To avoid some major issues/breakdowns tester may get prepared with some of the pre- requisites mentioned below –

.Tester should have AI file provided by client– The Adobe Illustrator or AI file is important to have before start newsletter testing with help of this file tester can come to know the exact spacing in design, font sizes provided, Font type, Color combinations, Alignments of all the elements which is important points in newsletter

.Tester should have all the detail designs given by client – The detail designs of newsletter should be provided by client and it has to be shared with tester. This is the base document while testing the newsletter which explains that how the news – letter should be look and fill wise or gives the top view of the newsletter

.Tester should be informed with device matrix as well as mobile matrix to be followed – Any website or company can have “n” number of readers/subscribers of the newsletter and they can have any device as desktops, mobiles or tabs on which they can check the newsletters and check all the devices and mobiles is not possible so it is necessary for tester to have the Device matrix and mobile matrix before start the testing like which all desktops, browsers and mobile devices to be considered for testing.

.Tester should be known the different mail clients on which email should be tested– As said in above point, there are different combinations of devices, mobiles and browsers each device had its own email client or user will install any email client app as per his/her convenience e.g. OUTLOOK – outlook installed on desktop, outlook as webmail, outlook app in mobile or default outlook in mobile as an email client, android base email client or IOS based; there are different email client, which may render the newsletter in different ways so it is necessary to know on which all email clients to be tested .

.Tester should be provided with credentials of tools from which client is sending the newsletters to their customers – Once a tester has completed testing on given device/mobile matrix and with provided email clients no need to feel that the testing is optimized from testers side as there is one more important elements need to keep in mind that is “The tool from which client send their newsletters”. This may affect the newsletter in any browser, device or mobile e.g. Newsletter sent from Microsoft dynamics crm will render actual HTML of newsletter in different way and after sending the same to a different email client that will display again some different view.
